With more than 3,000 islands that make up the whole Halong Bay archipelago, you could easily assume that there are hundreds or even a thousand beaches scattered all over the bay. But since most of it are made out of karst limestone rocks, the beaches that are readily available for tourists are only a handful. Amongst all other sites in the area, these three are the most famous ones:
1. Ba Trai Dao (Three Peaches)
Ba Trai Dao Beach is actually stretched between three small islands that look like peaches when they are viewed from afar. The clear water, golden white sand, and serene landscapes make Ba Trai Dao become the most famous out of them all. However, the tides are so frequent in this area of Halong Bay that the beaches are only available for use for two or three hours a day. Visitors must ride for about 10 hours on a boat to be able to reach this place.
2. Ti Top (Titov)
Ti Top Beach lies in Ti Top Island, shaped like a crescent moon, is another popular beach destination for Halong Bay cruises. The island features scenic mountains and clear waters. Comparing this island among others, Ti Top Island can offer a lot of activities such as trekking, kayaking, swimming, and shopping. Climbing to the top of the island is also one of the main highlights.
3. Tuan Chau
Tuan Chau is another island in Halong Bay. The interesting fact about this place is that its beaches are all manmade. This island is also the home of Ha Long Bay’s most luxurious boats and transport services such as The Au Co, Bhaya Cruises, Paradise Cruises, and Hai Au Aviation. Tuan Chau has the daily ferries as well to Cat Ba Island. With its plans of expanding and developing the tourism market of Halong, Tuan Chau will provide more than just cruises and hotels in the near future.
